Glen Craigen

Canada

Glen Craigen’s boss got a shock one day in the summer of 2022 when his usually mild-mannered construction worker suddenly started whooping and cheering, apparently for no reason. The boss came sprinting over to learn that Craigen had just pulled off a miraculous victory playing poker on his phone: he had secured a Platinum Pass to the PSPC worth $30,000 — and had earned it for precisely nothing. Craigen’s journey to the PSPC began when he won a $100 Mega Path ticket in a PokerStars Community freeroll, and he then turned that into a $1K tournament ticket. The snowball continued and Craigen snagged a Platinum Pass from that $1K event — playing while at work.

Craigen, 44, from Lamont, Canada, is a keen recreational player, supplementing his income laying asphalt. (He was previously a carpenter and a scaffolder before he hurt his back in a car accident.) His staple game is $80 tourneys in his local casino, and has won a few of them for around $2,000. He has also picked up a $2.5K score in a huge $8 event online (2,000+ field), and has played a $1K WPT event in Alberta.

He has been playing online poker since before Black Friday, and has learnt more about the game from watching streamers such as Jeff Gross and Jonathan Little. He names Ryan Depaulo, Daniel Negreanu and Lexy Gavin as his favourite players.
